Ten Dubloon Coin

If you check on Neopia Central, you see this "You can buy food or toys for your Neopet, collect rare items, magical potions, collectable cards, and even buy clothes!"

That leave you with cdlaabrse to unscramble. Since the prize is a Dubloon Coin, the Neopian character should be a pirate. It is Scarblade.

Results: 8507 people guessed the correct answer earning themselves 236 NP each.

Nice work. Can you share how you got to that point? I tried everything from "crossword puzzle solvers" to doing google searches on only neopets with specific consecutive words I could figure out. I was stumped!

The prize is the Dubloon so I searched some pirates and I got 1 matched :)

Oh, well I didn't have trouble unscrambling the final 9 letters. I couldn't even get to that point! How'd you think to find that phrase on such an obvious page?

Good job either way!

OMG, thanks so much. I've been looking at your hints for the past few weeks and I've come to believe you are a genius! Thanks again!

you can't do this, you're spoiling all the fun ! should I feel like an idiot for solving the unscrambling myself, or what ?
anyway, a simple crossword engine is enough. but why would people use that, if you're posting the solution straight away !?

unfair.

You would think a crossword engine would be enough, but it didn't seem to quite cut it for me. I suppose with some more tinkering I could have solved it that way.

The problem with a crossword engine was that there was no way to tell it that the letters that are missing are all consonants. Having the ability to do that would have made it a lot easier.

Well, I can kinda see his point. You have to be one of the first 250 to get the trophy/avatar/prize, so making the answer readily available to everyone, at least from the start, kinda makes it HARDER to get those. For instance, on that recent Lenny Conundrum where they asked about the moon of neopia, only like 500 people got it right I think. That made it pretty easy for someone who is really good at math to get the trophy (me.) If he had just put the answer, everyone would have gotten it right, and I most likely wouldn't have gotten the trophy.

Then again, there are plenty of times where I can't figure out the problem at all, and he helps a lot :P I guess I don't really care either way. I'm not going to lose sleep over someone giving away the answers to some riddles on neopets. Hah!

Sorry that I haven't responded soon. Even if I give the hints away, there are a lot of forums discussion and also given the answers so it will make no difference if I do it or not. The point that I want to make here is that I want to show to the correct direction to get the answers rather than giving the answer (could be wrong)

Which I think is the best way to do it. I like how you don't just give away the answers like everyone else. Showing people how to find the answers helps them out a lot more than spoon-feeding it to them.

Yeah, it gives me a better sense of achievement too...rather than looking at the puzzle every week and never being able to do it. It helps the rest of us along :)

I actually did the google thing and guessed what words were, and got it right!
