Mrs. Doyle the Housekeeper JubJub has made a big, big pile of sandwiches for the party of Skeiths visiting her house tonight. When she counts them, she realises that she can equally split the sandwiches between two Skeiths and have none left over. She can also split them between three Skeiths, four Skeiths, five Skeiths and six Skeiths equally and every time there will be no sandwiches left over.

What is the smallest amount of sandwiches that Mrs. Doyle could have made?

The number of sandwiches is divisible by 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. We want the find the least common multiple of the above numbers.

2 = 2
3 = 3
4 = 2²
5 = 5
6 = 2 * 3

The least common multiple is:

2² * 3 * 5 = 60

Therefore, the number of sandwiches is 60.

Brucey B has just won a load of money playing Cheat! He puts 1/5 of his winnings in the National Neopian Bank, and 1/2 of his winnings he invests into shares.

After those investments Brucey realises he still has quite a lot left. He then goes to Neopia Central and spends 1/10 of his winnings on chocolate neggs! At the end of the day he goes home and puts his remaining 500 NP in his mattress.

Brucey's spending: 1/5 + 1/2 + 1/10 = 4/5. He has 1 - 4/5 = 1/5 of his winning money. That amount is 500 NPs. Therefore, his winning amount is 500 NP * 5 = 2500 NPs.

Siya the Usuki Doll (pictured above) is 9 years older than her brother, and 25 years younger than her father. In seven years time her father will be three times older than her brother. How old is Siya now?

Let x be Siya's age, y be her brother's age and z be her father's age. We know:

y = x - 9
z = x + 25

In seven years, her brother's age and her father's age will be x - 2 and x + 32 respectively (add 7 to y and z). Her father's age will be three times her brother's age then. Therefore,

x + 32 = 3 * (x - 2) <=> x + 32 = 3x - 6 <=> 2x = 38 <=> x = 19

Therefore, Siya is 19 years old now.

Check: her brother's age = 10, her father's age = 44. In seven years, her father's age = 51, three times as much as her brother's age = 17.

Number of Puppyblews: 36 x 6 = 216.
Number of baby Puppyblews: 216 x 2 = 432.
